  • Partnered with diverse groups and communities to provide celebration and recognition events, displays and online resource collections, talks and seminars, film screenings, reading groups and open days.
  • Supported student wellbeing through activities such as coffee and chat, take a break exam stress initiatives, performance and live music.
  • Diversified our collections, purchasing new primary source collections across a broad range of EDI themes, establishing new purchasing arrangements with an independent book supplier and exploring approaches to decolonising the curriculum and .
  • Using Research Culture funding from Research England, commissioned a report into research culture and changes in scholarly publishing that provides valuable insight into how research culture can be developed to provide positive outcomes for all researchers and all disciplines.
  • Invested in our staff through our staff development programme, with mid-day seminars, career stories and anti-racism training. Kept connected with each other through our staff meetings, Teams discussions, Christmas quiz and Summer social.
  • Increased our partnership with students, developing new ambassador roles, extending the reach of our teaching and learning provision and benefiting from their creativity and perspective to develop new online resources.

  • Made significant content purchases from the News From Nowhere bookshop to diversify the print collections.?
  • Made improvements to our community collections including improved signage and discoverability.?
  • Delivered a successful Research, Engagement and EDI graduate traineeship.?
  • Successfully piloted inclusive recruitment practices.?
  • Delivered a reciprocal mentoring project where 4 learning developers worked with 11 Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAEM) UK students.?
  • Continued to develop our student partnerships, including our Library student ambassador schemes. ?
  • Developed guides including decolonising literature searching, and open access resources.?
  • We have extended our suite of online resources on academic writing to include Reflective Writing. ?
  • Extended our English language development support for PG students to include 'Dissertation Conversations' and 'Presenting your Research'.?
  • Held a celebrating success event and delivered a staff development programme.?

  • Launch the Family study space, promote the Feel good hub, and launch a board games collection and weekly events, supporting the wellbeing of our library users?
  • Further support decolonising of the curriculum and of our collections?
  • Undertake year 2 of the WP funded reciprocal mentoring project?
  • Introduce the Scientific Writing Centre, providing additional employment opportunities for students and support for students in FST and FHM. ?
  • Extend opportunities for student partners including additional roles, mentoring for ambassadors and career taster sessions?
  • Partner with others in the University and beyond to support EDI and wellbeing, e.g. through our programme of recognition events, and with wellbeing services and FHM to host Living Library events?
  • Embed inclusive recruitment practices and provide a wide range of opportunities for staff development?
  • Support submissions for the Race Equality Charter, Athena Swan and University of Sanctuary.?
